- Measure your body temperature with clinical thermometer. (Take HELP from your parents)
- Those who have the science kit box, use the lab thermometer and measure the temperature of bath water, refrigerator main compartment, freezer compartment, etc.
II. Freezing mixture
Take 8-10 ice cubes. Wash them with water. Put them in a plastic cup. Measure the temperature.
Now put 1-2 spoonfuls of salt in it. Mix. You will find that the ice starts to melt. Again measure the temperature. Are you able to get temperature below 0 degrees? Explain why this happens.

III. Super Cooled Water
Freezing point of water is 0 degrees Celcius. So normally when water is cooled below 0 degrees, it becomes solid.
Supercooling is a process of cooling a liquid below its freezing point WITHOUT letting it become solid!
Try to find out more about this and try to make supercooled water. (It is not very easy!)

IV. Study of Flowering Plants
- Study the plants in your surroundings. If you can identify a plant, click its photo, name the plant and also write if it is monocot or dicot.
- Try to find 3 monocot plants in your surroundings. Observe the leafs (and flowers if any)
- Observe various types of foodgrains (seeds we use as food). Learn their names. Identify which are monocots and which are dicots.
Send your photos, but don’t forget to name the plants before sending!
V. Study of Non-Flowering Plants
Observe and identify in your surroundings:
- Bryophyta (Moss)
- Pteridophyta (Fern)
If you can identify the plant, then take the photo (and name it).

VII. Balloon Experiment
Get an unopened half litre soda bottle (duke’s soda). Remove some (approximately half) liquid from the soda bottle. Put a rubber balloon on the mouth of the bottle. Shake the bottle (in vertical position). What do you observe?
(First make the balloon loose by stretching the rubber and by blowing it multiple times.)
Once the balloon is filled, tie a knot to it. Try to play with the balloon. Drop it from some height. Does it behave like a usual air filled balloon? Do you observe any difference?
Which gas is filled inside the balloon?
